Big Topics

When you want to discuss something with your child a book can be a great conversation starter.

The books recommended on this page are for a wide variety of ages and include picture books, non-fiction titles, and juvenile novels. Not all books will be appropriate for the age or maturity level of every child. We encourage you to read the books before you share them with your child as you will be the best judge of which books are best suited to their needs.

For children's books about Covid-19 please visit the Covid-19 Resources page on this Info Guide.

If you are looking for more resources on these or other topics please get in touch with Library staff either through the ask us form, or by speaking to staff at any of our libraries. We will be happy to assist you in finding materials. If you prefer to look on your own, you can search the library catalogue to find materials on a wide variety of topics.
