Terminology

When you see or hear someone say 2SLGBTQQIA+ it’s meant to represent diverse sexual and gender identities. 2SLGBTQQIA+ stands for Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and + which leaves room for people to self identify in a way that makes sense for them.

Other versions of the acronym, like QUILTBAG may include the keywords words Gender Diverse and Undecided, among others. For consistency, we will use 2SLGBTQQIA+ throughout this guide.
