Professional-grade 3D Computer-Aided Design in your web browser. You can create an account and use Onshape for free, with all of your designs publicly viewable, or you can subscribe for a monthly fee to get private documents. - Tinkercad
An easy-to-use free 3D design and modelling tool you can use in your web browser. If you have no 3D design experience, this is a good one to start with. - Sketchup
A very popular free 3D modelling program, Sketchup is oriented more towards architectural design, but is also capable of designing objects for 3D printers as well. - OpenSCAD
Most 3D modelling software is interactive and visually-based.
