Each Book Club Kit comes with 15 copies of a book, a discussion guide full of questions, reviews and author information. There are even ideas for what to read next. We have 50 different kits to choose from for beginner to intermediate readers.

This section includes resources for adult literacy teachers that can be used to enhance their classrooms and engage in their work with adult learners.
- Government of Manitoba - Adult Education and Literacy for EducatorsThe educators section of the Government of Manitoba adult education website has very useful resources for educators. This includes professional development opportunities for educators, a learner assessment guide and curriculum resources.
- Adult Secondary Education CouncilThe Adult Secondary Education Council (ASEC) represents adult educators in Adult Learning Centres and Adult Literacy Programs throughout Manitoba.
- The Canadian EncyclopediaThe Canadian Encyclopedia provides accurate, updated information about our people and country. The site offers a learning centre for teachers and parents that contains classroom resources, quizzes and themed study guides.
- GCFLearnFree.orgFrom Microsoft Office and email, to reading, math, and more - GCFLearnFree.org offers lessons, videos, and games on more than 200 topics. Includes Teacher Guides to assist teachers in using the content with the people they serve.
- TV411TV411 includes multimedia teaching materials that combine streaming videos with related interactive web lessons on reading, writing, math, science, and financial literacy for adult learners.
Adult Literacy Publishers
Many of these publishers' books are available at the Winnipeg Public Library.
- Grassroots PressGrass Roots Press publishes resources for adult basic education and English as a Second Language communities. They publish assessment tools, workbooks, photostories, biographies, and literature.
- HighWater PressHighWater Press publishes award-winning Indigenous-authored stories. These authentic stories, told by some of the most recognized Indigenous writers in Canada, include globally relevant social justice themes and the re-telling of historical events.
- New Readers PressNew Reader Press provides educators with the instructional tools they need to teach adult students and older teens.
- Orca BooksOrca Books publishes the Rapid Reads series which are short novels for adult readers. These are considered to be hi-lo books (high interest, low literacy). This website also includes reading guides for many of this books.
- PearsonPearson publishes the Penguin Readers and Penguin Active Reading books. These books are levelled readers that are written with English language learners in mind and also work well for adult literacy learners. Many of them are accompanied with audio recordings. They also have lesson plans and support material available on their website.
- Osu Children's Library FundThis is a Winnipeg based organization working with a partner organization in Ghana to promote reading and literacy for children and adults. There are books for level 1 adult learners which we recommend.
