Fiction

Fiction is focused on the imaginary, and not based strictly on history or fact. This guide shares literary fiction (stories that do not fit into a genre, like science fiction or romance, etc.).
Non-fiction

Non-fiction is the broadest category of literature focused on true stories and facts. It includes memoirs, biographies, history, science, travel, how-to literature and more.
Local authors

Local authors from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Canada, are to be celebrated! They write in all genres and bring a unique, local flavour to their stories - people, places, traditions, and sayings - that remind us of the familiar.
Mystery & Thriller

Mysteries and thrillers involve puzzling situations, crime, and mysterious deaths to be solved. From the Latin word "mysterium", meaning secret thing, this genre is filled with titles that will make you ask "whodunit?".
Other-worldly fiction

Other-worldly fiction takes you to imaginative, futuristic, and scary places with human, extraterrestrial, and/or mythic characters. Some of these places are inspired by myth and folklore, and whether you leave the story feeling inspired or terrified, it's sure to take you someplace out of this world!
Romance

Romance novels are fictional stories that focus on relationships and romantic love between two people. They have a central love story and satisfying or optimistic endings. Set in any place or time, they can be suspenseful, spiritual, and always sensual.
