Local Indigenous histories

This page shares resources to learn more about Indigenous histories in Winnipeg. The focus is on collections found in different Winnipeg-based archives and on information about events from the late 1880s onwards. Some items in the collections have been digitized and are available to view or listen to online. For other items, contact the institution directly.

TIP:  A collection of archival materials is called a "fonds". When looking at an a record entry for a fonds, look for a link to a "finding aid".  A finding aid shares a list of what is in the collection, along with information about the person(s) or organization that the records are about.
