- Lambda Literary AwardsThe Lambda Awards identify and celebrate the best lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender books of the year and affirm that LGBTQ2S+ stories are part of the literature of the world. Tip: you can see a list of all of the Lambda award winners in WPL's catalogue by entering "Lambda Literary Awards" in the search box.

- Bisexual Book AwardsAn award for books with bisexual characters, story lines, subject matter and/or themes. Winners are chosen by a panel of judges and announced annually.
- Stonewall Book AwardsThree annual book awards (Adult fiction, Adult non-fiction and Childrens/YA) sponsored by the American Library Association.
- Gaylactic Spectrum AwardsThe Gaylactic Spectrum awards were created in 1998 by the Gaylactic Network to honor works in science fiction, fantasy and horror which include positive explorations of LGBTQ2S+ characters, themes and/or issues.
- Publishing Triangle AwardsPublishing Triangle sponsors the annual Triangle Awards which present literary awards to their selections of the top LGBTQ2S+ literature of the year.
Terminology
When you see or hear someone say 2SLGBTQQIA+ it’s meant to represent diverse sexual and gender identities. 2SLGBTQQIA+ stands for Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and + which leaves room for people to self identify in a way that makes sense for them.
Other versions of the acronym, like QUILTBAG may include the keywords words Gender Diverse and Undecided, among others. For consistency, we will use 2SLGBTQQIA+ throughout this guide.
