This guide provides answers to questions about the current library closures. Version française

Thank you for your patience.

In response to the confirmed arrival of COVID-19 in Winnipeg, the City instituted changes to programs and services, including closing all public libraries effective Monday, March 16, 2020, until further notice. Libraries have minimal staff and are working remotely to maintain online services.

Please explore this guide for answers to the most commonly asked questions we're receiving.

What can I borrow?

The digital library will remain open and available 24/7 throughout the closure. Through it you can access:

  • downloadable eBooks and eAudiobooks
  • streaming movies and music
  • eMagazines and newspapers
  • Research databases

Many of our online services have added free content (i.e. available without having to place a hold or use a credit) that will be available during the closure.

Please visit our eMedia 24/7 Guide for instructions on how to get your device set up to access these services.
